In February of this year, the guidelines for a competition to design the poster for the VIII Ares Indiano event were published, and this was my submission.
The institutional coat of arms of the Ares City Council served as the primary influence for the composition. The two towers are represented by a female and a male figure dressed in "Indiano" style attire. The central gate is open as a welcoming gesture, and ascending steps lead to the central tower, which in turn connects to the poster's title and information.
The "castle" rests on the waters (following the reference from the coat of arms), where a parasol and a suitcase are placed. These objects hold double symbolism here: they are elements that are part of the "Indiano" aesthetic and, at the same time, act as a tribute to those who migrated. The shape of the inverted parasol recalls the structure of a ship sailing through the waters, accompanied by the aforementioned luggage.
